So I went and checked my BIOS version and there was an update, nothing specific to this issue but I figured Id try it. Disc Copy Protection - for cdrom and dvd. It appears Asus and Gigabyte have BIOS updates which fix the problem. There is definitly something wrong between securom and skylake cpu. If you know what you are doing flashing the BIOS still only takes 5 minutes or so.
